Our History

St. Clement’s Early Learning School (SCELS) was founded in 1955.

Though the school began as a small half-day Nursery School (mornings only), it has grown over the years into a full-day educational institution providing a variety of programs: Nursery School, Junior and Senior Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2. All programs are co-educational, with the exception of our Primary program. There is a Before-School program that begins at 7:30 a.m., and an After-School program that runs until 6:00 p.m.

After acquiring a solid educational foundation upon which to stand, our graduates move forward into life in the private or public school system.

Currently, we are able to serve up to 200 families. That makes SCELS large enough to meet the needs of our students, yet small enough to offer individual attention.

Most of our families live in the neighbourhoods near our Yonge/Eglinton location in mid-town Toronto. However that is not a prerequisite for acceptance into the school.
